What A Pickle

Year 6 learnt how important it became to ‘pickle’ some of the food which was grown at home during WW2. By putting some foods into vinegar, it would preserve the foods for longer as fridges and freezers were not in homes this time in history.

We studied pickling recipes and chose some food stuff to prepare and put into jars with the ingredients. We were not so keen on the smell of the vinegar. We shall see how tasting goes in a few weeks time!
