YR 3 Roman Day

We had a very special visitor in year 3 this week – none other than Queen Boudica of the Iceni Tribe!

We learned about all things Roman, including how to march in a formation and use our shields to protect us. We explored different Roman gods and goddesses and thought about which Roman and Celtic foods we would like to eat. We even learned some Latin words, including gladius (sword) and scutum (shield)!

When we weren’t working with Boudica, we got to play knucklebones (jacks to people from this century!) just like children in Ancient Rome would have done.

Our costumes looked fantastic, we almost forgot we were in 2022 and thought we were in 47AD for the day!
