Pupils started by understanding what technology is – how it is made by humans to help us do a task.  Children grouped the images into two.  Then found and explored technology in their classroom.

Children then went on to learning the main parts of a desktop and laptop computer. Focussing predominantly on desktop PCs, they have learned the basics of what a computer is and how to use it.  Children have been learning how to turn on the pc, login, how to use a mouse, how to use a keyboard to type, and to develop their hand eye coordination skills through drawing tasks and click and drag style games.

Children have combined typing with image creation.  Some children extended their learning by adding capital letters and full stops to their sentence.

We ended our topic with thinking how we all can use technology responsibly.
