World Book Day
On Thursday 3rd March, children across the school have all read and looked at The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Lessmore.
Here is what our pupils have been up to...
After reading the story, The Fantastic Flying Books of Morris Lessmore, we recreated the image of Morris flying away with the books but instead of Morris, we put ourselves into the picture.
We used Tux Paint to create the different shapes of thought about the best way the books should face to look as if we are flying away.
For World Book Day 2022, we spent the day creating works of art based on The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr. Morris Lessmore. In the morning, we wrote some character descriptions using expanded noun phrases and, in the afternoon, we made a book in a box scene from the story. Finally, we made our own flying books.
We loved this year's World book day Book ' The Fantastic Flying Books of Mr Morris Lessmore' which told a moving tale about the passing on of a love of books and reading through generations. Year 4 created their own flying books for Mr Morris Lessmore's collection linked to the 3 books we have read on our learning journey so far: Ice Palace, Wild Robot and Tales of Wisdom and Wonder.
