This week during British Science Week, children at St Stephens researched different scientists that they otherwise might not have heard of before, as part of the #SmashingStereotypes theme.

Reception

During Science week, Reception have been exploring world-famous Scientists who have invented medicines for lots of different illnesses and diseases. We set up our own Science Lab and created our own medicine and potions!

We explored what happens when we mix bicarbonate of soda with water and vinegar and how we can change the colour of our medicines. We had hours of fun!

Year 2

We explored Maria da Penha who is a biochemist. We learnt the different elements that make a biochemist (pharmacist and biologist) before learning about her and her life.
