Reception Spring Bees

Following on from our exploration of Spring, this week in Reception we have been learning about bees.

We discovered that honey is produced by bees and they make the honey from nectar, the sweet liquid that is produced by flowers. We learnt that honey comes in different consistencies from granulated, solid and runny honey (which we tasted). Lots of us hadn't tried honey before but we loved eating it on toast!

We also looked at a diagram that labelled a bee's anatomy, painted pictures with black and yellow stripes and wrote lots of bee facts.
