YR 4 Light Sensor

In Year 4, the children combined science and computing in a practical lesson about light.

They used a data logger with a digital light sensor to test how well different materials block light.

The children investigated materials such as tissue paper, felt, hessian and newspaper. They measured how much light passed through each one and recorded their results.

Using their data, the children then created charts to show their findings and compare which materials blocked the most light.

It was a great hands-on lesson that helped develop both scientific investigation skills and computing skills.
