YR 4 Exploring Sound

This half term, year 4 are explore and understanding how sound works.

We looked at how sound travelled in week one and understand that vibrations travel through the air, to our ear, down the ear canal and hit the ear drum for us to hear sound.

This week, we looked at how at high and low pitch sounds.

We used different elastic bands to test what types of pitch they would create. We listened carefully and ranked them from lowest pitch to highest.

Miss Craig also brought her ukulele to share how to make low and high pitch sounds by shortening and lengthening the length of the string. She played a song and show how she could use the same chord but change the pitch by moving her fingers up and down the neck of the ukulele.
