Lego League Club

This week in LEGO League, pupils explored how coding and technology can help archaeologists make discoveries.

🧱 Coding Our LEGO League Models

Using the LEGO SPIKE app, children programmed their models to use different components, including the light sensor, light display and motor. They learnt how sensors allow technology to detect information from the environment.

Teams programmed the light sensor to look for the colour yellow, representing the artifacts hidden in our dig site. When the sensor detected yellow, the model displayed a custom light signal, which the children designed themselves.

This activity helped pupils understand how technology can be used in real-world situations. In archaeology, sensors and digital tools can help scientists locate artifacts buried beneath layers of soil without damaging them.

Through this challenge, pupils developed their coding, problem-solving and teamwork skills while discovering how technology supports archaeological exploration.
