YR 2 Photography

This half term, Year 2 are becoming photographers! In Computing, we are learning how to use devices to take clear and thoughtful photos.

This week, we explored the difference between landscape and portrait photographs. We discovered that:

  • Landscape means holding the iPad sideways, which is great for wide pictures like playgrounds, groups of friends, or a long table.
  • Portrait means holding the iPad upright, which works well for tall things like a person standing up, a tower, or a tree.

The children practiced turning their iPads in different directions and thought carefully about which way would work best for the subject of their photo.

They really enjoyed experimenting, and we’re already seeing some fantastic results from our budding photographers! 📷
