Year 5 pupils have been exploring how technology can help protect our oceans. Using VEXcode VR, they programmed a robot to clean rubbish from the Mangrove Reef in Indonesia.

Building on their knowledge of sequencing and loops, pupils learnt how to use sensors to detect and collect waste. They had to carefully navigate the reef, avoiding coral and working efficiently before the robot’s battery ran out.
