ISSUE 124 - 3rd July 2026

Dear Parents and Carers,

This Week in School

It has been another exciting and busy week at St Stephen's!

Our Year 6 pupils enjoyed a fantastic visit to the Bradford Literature Festival, where they explored the wonders of the Universe through an engaging and inspiring session.

This week also saw our Transition Morning, with children spending time in their new classrooms and meeting their teachers in preparation for September. It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to begin looking forward to the new academic year.

We were delighted to welcome author and illustrator Bethan Woollvin to school. Bethan led a whole-school assembly before running exciting workshops with our Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 children. There were lots of creative activities and smiles throughout the day - we'll be sharing more from these sessions next week!

To round off the week, we enjoyed a fantastic performance of The Railway Children pantomime. Following the show, our Year 5 and Year 6 pupils also took part in an engaging workshop linked to the performance.

Looking Ahead...

Next week promises to be just as exciting, with football tournaments taking place and our eagerly anticipated Sports Day. We look forward to cheering on all of our children and sharing the highlights with you.

We hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Best Wishes from Miss Loughlin and all the staff at St Stephen's

Little Wandle - Letters And Sounds.

The resources on this site will help you support your child with saying their sounds and writing their letters. There are also some useful videos so you can see how they are taught at school and feel confident about supporting their reading at home.
