Year 5 Ledston Visit

Year 5 are visiting Ledston Hall on Tuesday and Wednesday of next week (please check with the class teacher if you are unsure which day they are going).  Please make sure you have given permission for your child to attend via the Arbor Parent Portal.

Year 6 Secondary School Applications

Deadline for applications is 31^st October unless applying to a Dixons school.  Dixons school deadline is September 30th.

If you require support with applying, please see Mr Procter at the end of the school day.

Kids Matter

There are still places available on our Kids Matter course.  This is a free course for parents to offer advice and support in a relaxed and informal setting.  It meets Tuesday mornings at 9am for approximately an hour, in the Orchard.  Do join us if you can.

Book Bags

Please ensure your child has a school book bag and brings it to school each day.  A number of reading and phonics books have been damaged recently by children bringing them to school when it is raining and not using their book bag.

New bags can be purchased from the Sycamore office.

Single Entrance

At St Stephen's our children enter the buildings at the start of the day via one entrance to each building (except Reception children).  Mrs Fillan, Miss Scarfe, Miss Loughlin, Miss Wilson and Mr Thorpe are there each morning to take any messages that you need passing on to the class teachers.  It is really important that messages are given to these staff and we don't try to interrupt the class teachers at this time as this is when they are settling children into class and establishing the learning for the day.  We hope you understand the importance of this and thank you for your co-operation.

Nuts

A reminder that we are a nut free school.  No products that contain nuts must be sent into school, including in children's lunch boxes.  This includes biscuits or cakes.  We have several children with severe nut allergies who require epi-pens as treatment so it is vital we avoid having nut products in school.  Thank you for your support with this.

Arbor App

If you still do not have or know another parent who does not have access to the Arbor parent portal, please download it as soon as possible.  This is how we send out important communications and it will be how you will be able to book Learning Review appointments in October.  If you need help, please speak to Miss Eley in the Sycamore office or another member of staff.

Please make sure your child is wearing the correct school uniform.

The resources on this site will help you support your child with saying their sounds and writing their letters. There are also some useful videos so you can see how they are taught at school and feel confident about supporting their reading at home.
