Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back! We hope you had a good half term break.
Remembrance
Next Tuesday, 11th November, we will be gathering as a school to observe Remembrance and remember all those who have lost their lives around the world in the pursuit for peace. We will have a special Collective Worship on Tuesday morning, and the children will be learning more about why we observe Armistice Day in their history lessons. If they would like to buy a poppy they are available to purchase from Sycamore office.
Y6 Extravaganza
On Tuesday 11th November, year 6 will be heading to Bradford Live for a special world record breaking musical attempt. Schools across the region have been invited to join the Bradford Music & Arts Service, and BBC Radio Leeds choir Bantam of the Opera, in attempting to set new world records for the ‘Largest Air-Drumming Session’ and ‘Largest Body Percussion Lesson’ at Bradford Live on November 11. The event is part of Bradford's UK City of Culture celebrations. Check next week's newsletter to see if they broke the record!
Leave of Absence
As per Bradford and national guidelines, absences other than for illness can NOT be authorised, and may lead to a penalty fine issued by Bradford Council. However, for any absence from school other than illness, a Leave of Absence form must be completed. These are now completed online via this link:
Pupil Passwords
If you need to collect your child during the school day, or have arranged for another adult to collect them, please ensure you or they know the password you have provided us with.
School Closure - Advanced Notice
Please be aware school is closed to all pupils on Monday 17th November for a training day. We will re-open as normal on Tuesday 18th November.
Have a lovely weekend,
Best Wishes from Miss Loughlin and all the staff at St Stephen's
