ISSUE 96 - 17th October 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Learning Reviews

Learning Reviews are happening next Wednesday 22nd October and Thursday 23rd October, 3:30pm to 6pm.  To get a day and time that you want then please book your appointments by using the Arbor portal or app.  If you need help with this then please speak to a member of staff.

Black History Month

To celebrate Black History Month, all the children have been learning about Muhammad Ali, the American boxer and social activist.  They have learnt how his faith was important to him, and how he helped to influence and shape other people's attitudes towards others.  As part of this special month, KS2 have also been learning about Racism due to skin colour, religion, language or where someone was born.  In class they have discussed why this is important, the seriousness of it, and how we can support each other in dealing with it.  Please do chat to your children about both of these important issues.

Book Fair

The Book Fair will be in school next week from Tuesday 21st October.  It will be based in Sycamore Hall and open after school on Tuesday and Friday, plus during both Learning Reviews.  Do come along and see what exciting books are available to buy.  School earns commission on all books sold which we can then use to buy more books for the children to read in class.

Year 6 Sing Event

Year 6 are attending St George's Hall on Monday 20th October where they will join with other schools and professional musicians in a special musical event.  Look out for more information from the event in next week's newsletter.

Year 4 Cartwright Hall Visit

On Wednesday and Thursday, Year 4 will be visiting Cartwright Hall to learn more about a special art exhibition in Bradford as part of the City of Culture 2025 event.  Please ensure you give permission for your child to attend via the Arbor app.  There is no cost for this visit. Look out for more information from the visit in next week's newsletter.

Year 7 Secondary School Applications

A reminder that the deadline for applications is 31st October.  Next week is the final week that Mr Procter is available to help with the application process.  If you still need support to do this, then please see Mr Procter after school next week.

Advance Notice - Half Term

School closes at 12:45pm next Friday, 24th October, for one week of holiday.  We re-open on Monday 3rd November at 8:45am.

Have a lovely weekend.

Best Wishes from Miss Loughlin and all the staff at St Stephen's.
