Forster's class treat was a trip out to Horton Bank Country Park. We had such an amazing but tiring day after walking 7 miles!
Year 2 went out to the park to find bees and help them by hanging their own bee hives for them.
Today is Clean Air Day
Year 6 have had researchers from Leeds University in Appleton class all morning learning about pollution. We also went out collecting pollution particulate data around West Bowling.

Mrs Powell and the Gardening Club have been busy working their magic on the pond area of our school this week; weeding, planting and even painting! The area looks fantastic!
Thank you to Mrs Powell, parents and children who have taken time out today to help clean up the litter that unfortunately collects in our school grounds.
Our families have prepared a delicious meal together a Spicy Root & Lentil casserole. The children and parents worked really well together as it was hard work peeling and chopping the vegetables to make the casserole. All the efforts were worth it as all the families have said they really enjoyed the meal.
Today in Computing year 5 were introduced to 3D printing. We used TinkerCad to create our own key-rings. Children learnt how to navigate in a 3D environment and build their designs. Once completed, their work will be sent to the 3D printer to become a final product made from durable plastic.
Thank you to Data Cable for today's insight.
Parent Gardening Club has just sprung into action!
This week we went to the farm to buy plants. We meet every Tuesday at 1pm. If you're green fingered and would like to help out, you are most welcome to join the group and help make St Stephen's blossom.
In reception we found lots of frogspawn and we took care of them until they grew into tadpoles. We have now put them into our school pond so they can continue to grow into frogs.
If you need some instructions or ideas on how to defeat a witch, just visit Year 2. We’ve made a whole book based on our story Rapunzel.
Today Year 1 visited the West Bowling allotments. We have been learning about where some of our food comes from, so we were very excited to see the different fruit and vegetables growing.
Weavers had a great time at Esholt Farm. We fed and stroked the animals. After that we played in the Play Barn. The slides were very popular with the Nursery Team. We played on the equipment outside.
Weavers had their final week of Forest School. They went to Wood Hall Lake and made pictures using natural materials from the environment. Each child received a bag which had lots of resources to use at home with their parents.
In Year 1 we made and sold our own healthy pizzas and fruit kebabs as part of our IPC topic 'We are what we eat'. The money we raised will subsidise our Year 1 trip in the summer term. We would like to say a huge thank you to everyone who attended the event and made it a success!
From the year 1 staff.
