Michael Morpurgo

Michael is an English book author and poet. He has written children's novels such as War Horse (1982). Michael became the third Children's Laureate, from 2003 to 2005. He has won many awards, including: Whitbread Children's Book Award (1995) for The Wreck of the Zanzibar. in 1996 he won the Nestlé Smarties Book Prize (Gold Award): The Butterfly Lion, Red House Children's Book Award (2000) for Kensuke's Kingdom, Nestlé Smarties Book Prize (2002 - Bronze Award)for The Last Wolf, Red House Children's Book Award (2004) for Private Peaceful, Blue Peter Book of the Year Award (2005) for Private Peaceful, Red House Children's Book Award (2011) for Shadow, Red House Children's Book Award (2017) for An Eagle in the Snow
